Run Barbados Marathon Weekend - Dec 7-9 2018
“Come for the Run, Stay for the Run”
For the past 3 decades Run Barbados has been an honored tradition and over this time it has evolved into one of the premier sporting attractions on the island with a festive atmosphere and a spirit of camaraderie. Online entries are open so we just wanted to give you a few details about the events.
The Details
All the events start and end at the bay street Esplanade.
Minimum Age Requirements:
10k: 12 years old
Half Marathon: 14 years old
Marathon 17 years old

Friday, Dec 7th Fun Mile Races - 8 pm.
There are 5 separate races that participants can take part in.
A fun race for costume runners, groups and individuals out to enjoy the festivities
The junior girls' race for 15 and under
The junior boys' race for 15 and under
Open women’s race
Open men’s race
MC Mac Fingall will keep the crowd informed and entertained. For full details check out the Runners Guide.
There will also be an “All you can Eat” Pasta Buffet which you can also book online for US $18 with over 8 different pasta options at the Bay Esplanade.
All finishers will receive a commemorative medal.
Saturday, Dec 8th
Arrive at 3:30 for a warm-up session with popular fitness instructors.
5k RUN - 4 pm
During this run, there will be a corporate challenge where companies/teams will compete for prizes.
There is also a School challenge in the 5k race.
5k WALK 4:02 p.m.
10K RUN 4:45 p.m.
The Run Barbados 10k is one of the oldest in the Caribbean ( since 1983.) Both the 5k and 10k races follow a scenic course along Bay Street featuring the beautiful Carlisle Bay and through the historic former colonial seaport of Bridgetown (UNESCO world heritage site)
There will be entertainment, lots of support, water stations and aid stations. All finishers in the 5k &10k races a commemorative medal.
Everyone is invited to attend the after race party on Saturday the 8th where there will be DJ music and entertainment on the Bay St. Esplanade from 3 p.m. There will be lots of food and drink available and MC Mac Fingall will be there again to keep everyone informed and entertained.
Sunday, Dec 9th - Half-Marathon & Marathon 5 a.m.
This race will begin on the Esplanade, Bay Street and proceed north through Bridgetown and along the scenic west coast of the island.
There will be fluids stations and toilets along the route as well as lively Caribbean music to provide motivation. All finishers will receive a commemorative medal
